Top 5 Inspirational Women

I am always trying to keep myself motivated. Having a young daughter also makes me very conscious of the messages that she is receiving about being a girl and eventually a women. I want her to feel strong, empowered, and have the ability to be exactly who she wants to be. This makes me try even harder to make sure that I am consuming strong and inspirational women that have a value set and ethics that align with my own. I feel the responsibility to be a good role model for her, and having good role models for myself helps me.

I thought it would be fun to share a current, but not forever, top 5 list list of inspirational women. My current top 5 are:
1) Michelle Obama;
2) Glennon Doyle;
3) Rachel Hollis;
4) Jen Hatmaker;
5) Elizabeth Gilbert.

Mid Year Journal Prompts

Given that we are half way through 2020, which has been derailed incredibly by COVID-19, it is a great time to check in on your goals and what you might want to tweak. What still feels relevant to you? Do you need to readjust your timeframe?

I keep two different journals. One is a Start Today Journal as per the Hollis Company. The second is a scrappy journal where I track my exercise, food choices, random thoughts, creative ideas and even complain sometimes!

In Episode 22 of the Learning to Slay the Beasts Podcast, I provide a few journal exercises that I have undertaken recently:

– Adjusting my goals for 2020 in my Start Today journal;

– Writing a letter of what I would like to let go of;

– Writing a letter to myself from my fear (check out Episode 151 of the Rise Podcast with my fav Elizabeth Gilbert to hear more on this!).

Check out Episode 8 of the podcast for my Rise x Toronto experience.
